It was the best of times, and it’s still getting better. For Raffles Institution’s 190th anniversary, Darling Visual Communications were commissioned to create the branding and collateral for the Great Expectations campaign.
It was a weighty project, brimming with historicity, that required us not only to look towards the future, but also inwards, excavating the full archaeology of a storied past. We illustrated past leaders of Singapore, key figures who were associated with the institution. The publication, like a package delivered through time, could be unstrung to reveal something thoughtful, nostalgic. It was a perfect metaphor for the amount of history that had to be compressed into a single package.
